Party Secretary, WANG Hongsong

Wang Hongsong, born in 1977, is currently the Party Secretary and Professor of CCELS, Director of the Youth Research Center of CUPL, and the Director of the Ideological Education Research Center for University Students.

Educational Background: Prof. Wang received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Department of International Economic Law at China University of Political Science and Law (1995-1999). Thereafter, he acquired a Master of Laws degree from Peking University (2001-2004) and a Doctoral degree in political science at the School of Political Science and Public Administration of China University of Political Science and Law (2008-2011).

Representative Publications: He has published more than 20 academic papers in leading journals such as Studies in Ideological Education and two books. He has undertaken more than 10 research projects on party construction and moral education funded by the Beijing Party Construction Research Institute and the Beijing Education and Industry Commission, as well as more than 10 research projects at the university-level on education reform, party construction and moral education.

Experience and Awards: In 2013, he initiated and established the Youth Research Center and University Ideological Education Research Center, which are scientific research institutions of CUPL to study the growth and development of youth and the transformation of university students’ talent cultivation mode. He has won the First Prize for "The Excellent Young University Teachers in Beijing Social Research", a second Prize for the "Excellent Achievement of Research Project of China Society of Party Construction", "Outstanding Achievement of Party Construction" of Beijing Research Institute, and “Outstanding Cases of Promotion and Education of the Socialist Core Values in Beijing”. He was also awarded two Special Awards, two First Prize and one Third Prize of the “CUPL Innovative Contribution of Moral Education” as well as “Excellent Moral Educator in Beijing”.
